Chalking after paint

Causes:

  • Usage of interior paint for an outdoor application
  • Low quality putty

Solution:

  • Use a stiff bristle brush to remove as much of the chalk as possible.
  • Dust-off it completely by using a clean cloth.
  • Check by any more chalk by touching it with you hands over the surface after cleaning.
  • Apply primer and recoat the surface.
  • Do not use a interior paint/putty for exterior surfaces.
